Join the UNFPA Humanitarian Response Division's Surge Response Roster!

UNFPA's Humanitarian Response Division is seeking skilled Operations Managers to join our Surge Response Roster. Deploy worldwide and make a difference in the lives of women and girls during humanitarian emergencies.

What We Offer:

Deployment Roles:
  • Serve as a Country Office Management Team member
  • Provide operational support to Country Offices in the area of financial services, human resources, procurement and logistics, Implementing Partners management, ICT, facilities and general administration
  • Contribute to humanitarian/emergency efforts for affected populations
  • Ensure timely, transparent, and efficient operations, considering audit requirements
Qualifications:
  • Advanced technical degree in finance, public/business administration, public policy, or a related social science field
  • 5+ years of experience in operation or/and as Operations Manager with UNFPA or other UN agencies is a must
  • Experience in challenging and complex humanitarian/emergency settings is a must
  • Knowledge in financial and human resources management, contract, asset and procurement, information and communication technology, and general administration
  • Familiarity with UNFPA internal processes and procedures is a plus
  • Fluency in English (required); additional languages are advantageous

Assessment Process:
  • Resume & Application Review: Our vetting committee will examine your resume, application, and supporting paragraph to determine if your experience and skills align with UNFPA's surge needs.
  • Technical & Soft Skills Assessment: You may be asked to complete a technical assessment tailored to your area of expertise to evaluate knowledge and problem-solving abilities. You may also have to answer questions relating to soft skills.
  • Video Interview: Candidates may be invited to a recorded video interview where you'll answer questions covering both technical and behavioral aspects relevant to humanitarian work.
  • Reference Checks: As a final step, we may request your professional references to gain further insights into your work ethic, performance under pressure, and suitability for surge deployments.


We look at the whole picture, considering your technical and soft skills, adaptability, commitment to UNFPA's mission, and potential to successfully contribute in crisis settings.
Selected candidates will be added to the Surge Response Roster and contacted when opportunities match their profile.
